What is EPLI Coverage?
EPLI is a type of liability insurance covering wrongful acts that arise from the employment process. The most frequent claims that are covered include: wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. This policy also covers others types of inappropriate workplace behaviour, such as defamation, invasion of privacy, failure to promote, negligent evaluation, and deprivation of a career opportunity.
EPLI covers directors and officers, management, and employees as insureds. Common exclusions on an EPLI policy include bodily injury, property damage, and dishonest acts. EPLI is available as stand-alone coverage, but can be sold as part of a package policy.
